My Publishing Journey, My Story

Helloooooo out there!

This is me

Hello Friend!

It feels like forever!

What has God been doing in your life?

Or, what have you been allowing God to do with your life?

There is a difference…

I ask because I’ve been thinking a lot about this as I work or my current project. (I’ll share more in a minute.) And as I look at Samuel’s, Saul’s, David’s, and my callings I’m becoming more and more aware of how we can either limit God in our lives or how we can live the abundant, infinitely more life He offers by the choices we make and the sin we cling to or let go of.

So, I want to remind you of something. Something I’ve been reminded of recently.

You were created with purpose and for a purpose. There is a reason God has you here on this planet.

Rick Warren opens his wildly popular book, The Purpose Driven life with this paragraph (emphasis mine):

It’s not about you. The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose.

[Rick Warren. The Purpose Driven Life (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2002), 17.]

What changes do you need to make today to be available and used by Him?

Attitude? Repentance? submission?

So in light of that, how is your summer going? What are you most looking forward to between now and Labor Day?

My summer is going great and FAST!

As you may have heard, I’ve been asked to write an eight-week Bible Study for our church to complement the sermon series of the life of King David. Needless to say, I feel like a turtle holed up in her shell and every once in a while I pop my head out to make sure the world is still turning.

Guess what, it still it!

I’ve been pretty silent on social media and in this space as I’ve been working 12-16 a day. But what an ADVENTURE it’s been! I am utterly absorbed in 1 & 2 Samuel and the lives of these people and all I’m learning! WOW! I’m about to share another excerpt soon. (see the last excerpt here.)

I’ve had some inquiries as to how things are going, so I thought I would give you a quick update before I pull my head back in.

The writing is going really well, and I’m praying I will be able to pick up the pace now that the ground work is almost all laid. I have a soft deadline of August 30 and a hard deadline of September 6th so that it can all be formatted and to the printers by September 13.

It has been a wild ride so far, and your prayers to this point have been a huge reason why it’s going so well. Keep praying please. I’ve felt the attacks, but they don’t last long and are not as fierce as they could have been. There are no words to express my gratitude.

This evening I am going the the 3rd Northwestern Christian Writer’s conference. (That totally snuck up on me) Last year was AMAZING!! And God did BIG things for me and I’m praying for the same this year. (If you are not in the loop, check out these two blogs to get up to speed. They will explain everything. here and here)

Actually, I’m going with a notebook, pen, open hands, and an attitude of “Surprise me, God.” Would you please join me in prayer that His will be done and I will be know exactly what it is?

I can’t wait to tell you what He’s planning next. Stay tuned!

Blessings, xoxo

Cheyenne

  1. Cheyenne, you are busy! I am praying for you that God will continue to use your writing, your faith, your life to exalt Christ in new ways. I hope God gave you a sweet gift, just for you, at the conference! Bless you! XO

  2. Thank you so verny much! I have no expectations, but I have a feeling He is doing something I have no idea of yet. It’s like looking under the Christmas tree at an oddly shaped package with your name on it…and it say DO NOT OPEN TIL CHRISTMAS! 😂

  3. Praying for you that you will receive a good word from God at the conference and that God continues to bless your ministry!
