Have you ever had one of those moments, those unexpected moments, where you were given a blessing you didn’t know you needed?

I had one of those moments a few days ago. Continue reading “What Happens When We Pray For Others”

My 15 Minutes: Matthew 3:1-12: Religion vs Relationship

Fire and BibleAre there any passages of Scripture you come across that slay you?

Shread your heart and leave you bare? That so grieve you they propel you to action. Not out of guilt, but out of love. Passion. Urgency.

For me, it’s Matthew 7:21.

Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. (NLT)

Can you see why this breaks me every time?

What we are reading now: Battle Ready by Kelly Balarie

Battle Ready

Starting Monday in the

Vibrant Relevance FB Group

we are reading

Battle Ready by Kelly Balarie

I would love for you to join us.

You can order this book on Amazon as either a physical book or ebook.

If you are not a member of the group, click on the link above and request membership as this is a closed group. I will happily add you in.

I was honored to be on the launch team for this book and it challenged me at a time I needed it most. I felt as though each word was written with me in mind. I was imprisoned by self-doubt, wondering if this whole writing thing was a farce. If this is where God really wanted me to be. I knew He called me to this, I knew I was obeying Him, but I still doubted me. My ability. Who am I? Why would anyone care what I have to say? Am I even good at this? Etc.

Then Jesus used this book at this time to point out Satan’s lies and to alter my perspective. It’s NOT about me, it’s about HIM!

The plan:

  • Read chapter 2 chapters a week and answer the questions at the end of each chapter.
    • There are no quizzes, no one is going to check in on you. But reading a book together is enjoyable and it helps keep you accountable.
  • Post your favorite quotes, thoughts, and reactions on the group page so we can discuss it together and support and encourage each other as we learn how to live victoriously.
    • Please consider posting these same things on your social media platforms #battlereadybook or #battleready
  • When we finish the book, please review it on Amazon.
    • This is so helpful to any author.
    • It provides encouragement and your testimony about this book will encourage others to hear Christ’s message in these pages.

I am open to other book ideas for the future. I have the next one planned already–stay tuned! But nothing beyond that.

Giveaway: Battle Ready by Kelly Balarie

I had the privilege to be on the launch team for this book and it rocked me, called me out, and drew me closer to my Savior. I faced insecurities, fears, and obstacles. But more than anything, Kelly guided me through the intense self-doubt I was wrestling with by sharing her own journey.  Continue reading “Giveaway: Battle Ready by Kelly Balarie”

Everyday Heroes: Ally Bowen, This Girl Hates to Run, Seriously She Does

img_0243Do you like to run?

You know what I mean—you put on some comfortable, breathable clothing. Maybe use a little Glide to prevent chafing and lace-up a pair of good, supportive kicks. Then step out onto the roadway, path, or track. Sometimes the birds are singing, enticing the sun to peek over the horizon. Other times it’s dark. Silent. You’re the only one stirring, playing catch-me-if-you-can with the dawn. Continue reading “Everyday Heroes: Ally Bowen, This Girl Hates to Run, Seriously She Does”

My 15 Minutes: Matthew 7:24-27: Sunshine and Thunderheads

rainWe had some of the strangest weather yesterday.

It started out with a constant misty-drizzle, everything was drippy and dreary. Then a few hours later, the sun came out displaying one of my favorite things: sunshine glittering off raindrops still clinging to the grass and trees. Everything looked bright and exciting, fresh and clean, holding the promise of a beautiful day.

Then the thunderheads started to bully their way across the sky.

IT’S TIME!! Would you commit to praying for and with me this week?

NCWC 2018

Hello, hello, hello!!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

I had the privilege of being on vacation with family for the week. And I confess: I didn’t write anything new! However, I was busily editing my book proposal for this weekend’s Christian writer’s conference.

I feel like I’m back in school, and I have a term paper due!

However, I’m not ready to turn it in yet and my time is evaporating faster than raindrops on hot pavement. Don’t worry, I’ll have it done. And then, I’ll be back at it as soon as this weekend is over.

I have a stack of outlines for blog posts, pictures, and–squirrel…sorry. I was getting excited. Focus, Cheyenne.

This weekend.

The Writer’s Conference.
